The purpose of this book, as in the case of the first edition, is to provide the beginning student of elementary calculus with a collection of carfully solved representative problems. The book will also be found helpful to students of science and engineering who feel the need for a review of fundamental theory and problem work in the subject. Moreover, since this edition includes proofs of theorems, derivations of differentiation and integration formulas, and an ample supply of supplementary problems, it may be used as a text for a formal course. |
